# How to add your tree link to your Instagram story

Your tree only fills up when friends can find it. Here’s how to put your link in an Instagram story, in your bio and anywhere else your friends will see it.

## Add your link to an Instagram story

1. Copy your tree link
   Open your tree at [decomytree.link/create-tree](https://decomytree.link/create-tree) and tap **Copy** next to your share link. It looks like decomytree.link/send-message?tree=ABCD2345.
2. Start a story
   In Instagram, tap your profile picture or swipe right from the feed, then add a photo: a screenshot of your tree works well.
3. Add the Link sticker
   Tap the sticker icon at the top, choose **Link**, paste your tree link and tap **Done**. Move the sticker where friends will see it, for example under your tree.
4. Share it and pin it
   Post the story. Stories disappear after 24 hours, so add it to a **Highlight** on your profile to keep the link there until Christmas.

Make the sticker say what it is

Before you tap Done, choose **Customize sticker text** and write something like “deco my tree 🎄”, so friends know where the link goes.

## Put the link in your bio

1. Go to your profile and tap **Edit profile**.
2. Tap **Links**, then **Add external link**. Paste your tree link and give it a title such as “Deco my tree 🎄”.
3. Save. The link stays in your bio until you remove it.

## Close Friends, DMs and group chats

Want messages only from the people closest to you? Share the story to **Close Friends**, or paste the link into a DM or a group chat. Anyone who has the link can leave a message, so share it where you’re comfortable.

## Share your tree on other apps

- **TikTok:** only some accounts can show a clickable link in their bio, so put your **tree code** in your bio or video caption instead. Friends type it at [decomytree.link/send-message](https://decomytree.link/send-message).
- **WhatsApp:** post the link to your status or paste it into chats.
- **Snapchat:** attach the link with the paperclip tool when you send a Snap or post a story.
- **X and Facebook:** paste the link into a post.

## Friends can’t open the link?

1. **Check that the whole link was copied**, including the code at the end.
2. **Open it in a browser.** If the page doesn’t load inside Instagram, tap the ⋯ menu and open it in Safari or Chrome.
3. **Use the code.** Friends can also type your 8-character tree code at [decomytree.link/send-message](https://decomytree.link/send-message).
