How many days until Christmas 2026?

When is Christmas 2026?

Christmas Day 2026 falls on Friday, December 25, 2026. Christmas is celebrated on December 25 every year, and Christmas Eve — the night before — is Thursday, December 24, 2026.

Orthodox churches that still follow the Julian calendar celebrate Christmas on January 7 instead, which is Thursday, January 7, 2027.

Christmas dates for the next five years

Planning ahead? Here is the day of the week Christmas falls on each year, with a live count of the days left.

How many weeks, sleeps and hours until Christmas?

The big number at the top counts calendar days — what most people mean when they ask how many days are left. The tiles under it show the exact time remaining, down to the second, in your time zone.

• Sleeps are the nights left before Christmas morning — the same as the number of calendar days.
• Weeks are the full weeks left, plus the days that remain.
• Hours are the exact hours left until midnight on December 25.

Ten cozy ways to count down to Christmas

1. Hang one message a day. Share your My Tree link and ask a different friend each day to leave a note.
2. Open an advent calendar — chocolate, toys or a homemade one filled with tiny notes.
3. Plan a movie marathon: one Christmas film every weekend in December.
4. Write your wish list early so friends and family have time to plan.
5. Bake a batch of cookies and share them with your neighbours.
6. Decorate your real tree and your virtual one on the same night.
7. Send a message to someone you rarely talk to — it will mean more than you think.
8. Build a playlist with one new song for every day left.
9. Pick a giving goal: donate, volunteer or help someone nearby.
10. Put this countdown on the TV in full-screen mode for family evenings.
